PTA Reflections

  • PTA Reflections

Bringing the arts to life for more than 10 million students since 1969. California State PTA and its members, families, and kids are at the forefront of this amazing program, which increases community awareness of the importance of the arts in education.

Reflections encourages students of all ages to:

  • Unleash creative talents and be inspired.

  • Express themselves imaginatively in their artwork.

  • Experience the fun and joy of making art.

  • Tap into critical thinking skills to create art inspired by the annual theme.

  • Receive positive recognition for their original works of art.

Categories:

All students attending PTA schools sponsoring the program are invited to participate and submit original artwork in one of six areas:

     – Dance Choreography

     – Film Production

     – Literature

     – Music Composition

     – Photography

     – Visual Arts

Divisions:

Students submit their original works of art in one or all of the available arts categories and participate in the appropriate division for their grade:

  • Primary (Pre-K - Grade 2)

  • Intermediate (Grades 3-5)

  • Middle School (Grades 6-8) – LCES 6th Graders will be entered in the Middle School division.

  • High School (Grades 9-12)

  • Accessible Arts* (All grades welcome)

    *Students who identify as having a disability and may receive services under IDEA or ADA: Section 504 may enter the Accessible Arts division or grade division most closely aligned to their support needs.

*Note: This is for information only. Students MUST submit works electronically via the Google form provided by their school's Reflections chair at LCES 2024-2025 Reflections Student Entry Form**

Digital artwork submission and student artist statement explaining how their work relates to the theme are required. 

Please save physical artwork, as this may be needed if the student advances to the competition's district, state, or national level.
